Thanksgiving Dinner

Turkey and mushroom pot pie
Although it had a little accident while it was still wrapped inside aluminium foil, the taste is still scrumptious thankfully. I was beyond worried about its taste because I felt like I didn’t put enough cheese or cream. Turns out everyone loved it.

Beef meatloaf
This recipe was handed down from grandmothers to granddaughters, it is a family recipe that had stirred many thanksgiving family dinners. The main ingredient is fruit chutney, and that’s basically all I can say. It was served with mash kumara on the side, which was sprinkled by salt and chopped parsley.

This kumara mash is the sweeter version of the other one, since it was mixed with brown sugar.

Caramelised onions and mushroom

Spaghetti aglio olio from Bar Italia brought by a friend of mine, JB. Perhaps, the best aglio olio in Sydney so far (for me).

Potato Mille Feuille baked by two of my friends, Evelyn and Jessica. Cheese-gasm really.

Beef Casserole by Evelyn, tasty corn, minced beef, potato and cheese.

What’s a thanksgiving dinner without Turkey? With steamed healthy greens like broccoli on the side. There was no stuffing since the turkey is turkey ham instead of the usual turkey dish. Nonetheless, it tasted priceless, especially on a Thanksgiving night.

Carrots

Asparagus

Peach and blueberry crumble pie by Helena. Loved it, the soury mix of peaches and blueberries that melted in your mouth like jam. I was just simply soaked with contentment of a fat man when eating the crumble.

Delicious healthy (half of Subway cookies’ calories) Oatmeal cookies by Janice. My addiction for oats and nuts had me love these cookies so much, especially if they were that calorie-less.

In the end, the dinner was simply marvellous, 8 girls thanking God for everything that He has provided in our lives. Thanking the hard work of farmers too, without them what will we ever be. Cheers.
